What feeds our Profit and Loss is the ability to bring vendors and customers together via an online marketplace, the aim of which is to deliver the best online shopping experience in Barbados for our customers, and on behalf of our vendors.
However, at the heart we have a desire or even rather an obligation to use our business to to help the most vulnerable in society and give back as much as it is within our power to do so.
A wise man once said:
"If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food and you say to them "Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed," but you don't give them what the body needs, what good is it?"
It is this mindset that drives us to do better, increasingly stitching it into our DNA.
Speaking of DNA, Why Not Become a Blood Donor and Help Save Lives!
Unfortunately we have first hand experience of the trauma one goes through when a loved one is in need of blood, and then going through the process of begging friends and family to donate on their behalf. This is the business as usual process in many Caribbean islands, but not in countries like the UK where the percentage of blood donors is much higher.
It is not commonly discussed or even considered as part of our Caribbean culture and we hope to make an impact, however small, to positively changing this.
Why Give Blood?
Giving blood saves lives. The blood you give is a lifeline in an emergency and for people who need long-term treatments. If the large majority of us gave regularly there will be enough supply when it is needed.
