A Dining Table Designed Around Your Space

A custom dining table offers something that ready-made furniture cannot: control over proportion, material, form and finish.

Whether you need a six-seat table for a private residence, a substantial table for a luxury villa or a larger piece for a hospitality project, the design begins with understanding the room and how the table will be used.

Your table can be tailored through:

  • Overall length, width and height

  • Number of people to be seated

  • Timber species and available grain

  • Live, sculpted or refined straight edges

  • Tabletop thickness

  • Base and leg design

  • Natural, stained or protective finishes

  • Indoor or suitable sheltered outdoor placement

  • Delivery and installation requirements

Material recommendations depend on the dimensions, intended placement, design and availability of suitable timber.

Selected Dining Tables

Commune

Created as part of the SOVEREIGN Collection, Commune is a one-of-one dining table handcrafted from locally sourced mahogany.

Its 82-inch top retains the timber’s cathedral grain, burl formation and natural live edge. A sculptural opening crossed by individually shaped wooden slats gives the table its distinct identity, while solid red-oak slab legs and a central stretcher create a grounded base.

Commune seats six comfortably and can accommodate up to eight when required.

Sculpted Mahogany Statement Dining Table

Handcrafted from substantial solid mahogany, this commissioned table combines a richly figured top, sculpted live-edge detailing and statement pedestal supports.

The design allows the natural movement and character of the wood to remain visible while creating a strong, refined centrepiece for the dining space.

Choosing the Right Dining-Table Size

The appropriate size depends on the number of seats required, the dimensions of the room and the proportions of the chairs.

As an initial guide:

  • 60–72 inches: generally suitable for six people

  • 72–84 inches: generally suitable for six to eight people

  • 84–96 inches: generally suitable for eight people

  • 96–120 inches: generally suitable for ten to twelve people

Allow at least 36 inches between the table and surrounding walls or furniture. Where space permits, 42–48 inches provides more comfortable circulation, particularly behind occupied chairs.

Final dimensions should be confirmed against your room and seating before production begins.

The Commission Process

1. Submit Your Brief

Provide your preferred dimensions, seating requirements, project location, completion date, material preferences and indicative budget. Inspiration photographs or drawings may also be included.

2. Consultation and Site Review

We review the brief and clarify how the table will be used. Site measurements can be discussed where required, particularly for larger residential, villa or professional projects.

3. Design and Material Selection

The table’s proportions, form, timber, edge treatment, base and finish are developed. The natural characteristics of available timber are considered as part of the design.

4. Proposal and Quotation

You receive the proposed scope, estimated production schedule and quotation. Every table is priced individually according to its dimensions, materials, complexity, finish, delivery and installation requirements.

5. Approval and Production

Production begins after the proposal is approved and the required deposit is paid. Progress updates may be provided at agreed stages.

6. Delivery and Installation

Delivery and installation can be included within Barbados. Caribbean projects are considered individually according to location, scale and logistics.

A minimum of eight weeks should generally be allowed for a custom dining-table commission. Larger, more complex or material-dependent projects may require additional time. The estimated completion date is confirmed before production begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my dining table be made to a specific size?

Yes. Custom dimensions are central to the commission process. The final size will be reviewed against seating requirements, room proportions, circulation and structural considerations.

Can I request a live-edge dining table?

Yes, subject to the availability and suitability of the timber. A natural live edge can be preserved or refined, depending on the desired appearance and condition of the slab.

Can I choose the wood and finish?

Material and finish preferences are discussed during the design stage. Recommendations will consider appearance, durability, availability, table dimensions and whether the piece will be used indoors or in a sheltered outdoor setting.

Will my table look exactly like one shown on the website?

Previously completed pieces can guide the direction of a new commission, but natural grain, colour, live edges and markings vary between boards. Each custom table will have its own material character.

How much does a custom dining table cost?

Every table is individually quoted. The principal cost factors are overall size, timber species, tabletop thickness, base design, construction complexity, finish, delivery and installation.

Do you deliver and install?

Delivery and installation can be included for projects in Barbados. Requirements should be stated in the initial enquiry so that access, handling and installation can be considered in the quotation.
